SPA 201 - Intermediate Spanish I (3 CR.) Prerequisite(s): SPA 102 or SPA 115 or three years of successful completion of high school Spanish or demonstrated experiential learning or by placement test, or equivalent. NOVA requires all students of higher education or who have previous knowledge of Spanish to take the placement test. We recommend that students who have not taken SPA 102 or SPA 115 within the last year also take the placement test.
Students must be proficient in the present tense, present progressive, object pronouns, subject/verb/adjective agreement, reflexives, preterit, imperfect, and gustar and similar verbs. Continues to develop understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Spanish is used in the classroom. Lecture 3 hours per week.
